Project Stick at IDS-USM
INclusive Opportunities For recreation funded by the Mississippi Council on developmental disabilities
PROJECT STICK at
USM-IDS
Main Event THis MOnth
The project has been re-funded for the upcoming year! We are continuing to provide Adventure Therapy year round! More details coming soon.
We will now be combining the Low & High Ropes Courses into a full day event. Kayaking will be scheduled for a later date in the year, so that more suitable weather will be present. We will not be offering the indoor rock wall MGCCC provides! Each Low/High Ropes session will be from 10AM-2PM.
Lunch will NOT be provided, so we highly recommend the participants to bring their own. A slight break between the 2 hours of Lows and 2 hours of highs will be given for lunch.
All dates have been scheduled for the upcoming year! Dates have been listed below with the corresponding session associated with the date. We are excited to bring the program back and provide a better experience for everyone involved!
The University of Southern Mississippi and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College partnered together this year, funded through the grant Project STICk given by the Mississippi Council on Developmental Disabilities, to bring South Mississippi an outdoor recreation program unlike any other! Throughout the months of December and September, individuals with and without developmental disabilities have the opportunity to participate in a FREE Adventure Therapy Program.

- With over 100 individuals signing up this program was a huge success!
- AmeriCorps, Step-Up Council at the University of Southern Mississippi, the Biloxi V.A. Medical Center & members of the community all participated this past year.
